A small Italian town
of Predappio
hidden between endless hills of the Apennine peninsula is
known to the rest
of the world by the only one reason. It was the place
where the leader of Italian fascists Benito Mussolini was born in 1883.
It also was the place where his remains were buried in the Mussolini's
family crypt on the municipal cemetery sixty years late. Nowadays
Predappio has turned into an important pilgrimage place for neo-fascists
from all parts of Europe as well as ordinary Italians, sympathized with
Duce. Every day dozens and even hundreds visitors arrive to Predappio to pay respect to
their idol. It went so far that in April 2009 the town council banned
the sale of fascist souvenirs in Predappio, despite of this it's still possible to
buy a bust of Adolph Hitler or a mug with Nazi swastika here.![]() 1. Tomb of Benito Mussolini in the family crypt at the Predappio cemetery. ![]() 2.
